Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin is a Canadian and actress from New Zealand. Born in Winnipeg but raised in Wellington the city where she was born, she made her first acting appearance in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at the age of 11, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. The actress was chosen to play Flora McGrath the daughter of a mute Scottish pianist who, in the middle of 19th century, moves to New Zealand for an arranged wedding when she answered an open audition call at the age of nine. She was old and had almost no prior experience in acting. At the age of a teen her family left Canadian to United States. Paquin was Jane Eyre's protagonist as a teenager in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) as well as the lead role for the character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin was the character Frankie Addams as a child in the television film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 movie Amistad. She played teenagers as part of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) as well as her Polexia Aphrodisa character as part of Almost Famous (2000).
