Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress as well as a director producer and singer. She's a beautiful, skilled actress that has inspired many Asian actors to succeed in Hollywood. After several appearances on popular television series her name was a household name after being cast as a character in Ally McBeal legal comedy where she portrayed Ling Woo. After a sudden surge in fame, the actress landed roles on big screens like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. The actress also gave an outstanding performance as Japanese criminal lord O'RenIshii, in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. At the same time her role as an actor in films that failed that were box-office hits like Rise: Blood Hunter were also prominent. In animated films like Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and others she voiced prominent characters. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small-screen parts, did not achieve any success. Southland, a critically acclaimed series of police dramas which included Liu in multiple parts, helped to establish her role as an actress. Liu selects her roles with utmost care in order to ensure she is not stereotyped in an industry with a lot of competition. While she's been embracing the roots of her family, she hasn't let them restrict her artistic abilities.
